Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!
Saturday 9: I’m So Excited
1. What was the last event or situation that got you really excited?
When I went out shopping and watching a movie with a girl-friend last week, lol.I know, I’m too easy to please and I get excited over small sthings.
2. How old were you when you started working and what was your first job?
Probably when I was 13, baby-sitting and looking after our small convenience store. I started working officially when I was barely 20 years old, just fresh from university, as a Community Organiser for a women’s NGO in Cebu City, Philippines.
3. Tell us about your grandparents.
My paternal grandparents were awesome! They doted on us, pretty much like any other grandparents. I was closer to my grandmother because I was in awe of her storytelling abilities, animated narrations complete with voice changes. She also used to keep giant piggy banks in her closet where she kept her money. At the end of the year, she would break her piggy banks open and used the money to buy us presents. Besides that, she also made the best Paella and Valenciana in the family! Great childhood memories…How I miss her so much. I got to meet my maternal grandmother when I was already in my 20s as she lived in another city. She was already suffering from Alzheimers and died two years after I met her.
4. Do you procrastinate or are you usually on top of situations?
Generally I thrive under pressure. It’s good, I suppose. But there are those times when I do procrastinate, especially when I’m PMSing.
5. What would others say about you?
I don’t really know and I don’t really care, honestly 😛
6. Do you believe in life on other planets?
It is possible for life to exist in other planets. But to see is to believe, right, eh?
7. When was the last time that you were called too thin?
Ooh, now that you asked… that was in 2001 when a lunch-date was arranged between me and a colleague of a former colleague. On our date, blond guy remarked I was too thin (I believe the exact word he used was “skinny”) so he took it upon himself to order my meal. His remark didn’t go well but he was a real charmer, that blond guy. So I agreed to meet him again. And again. And a few more times 🙂
8. Do you work out? Have you ever joined a gym and quit almost immediately?
Does getting up from the couch to change channels on TV count as a work out? I thought so, too. And no, I’m not attracted to gyms. They are a waste of time and money. Lol.
9. Do you feel that you utilize all your intelligence in every situation?
Depending on the situation. But generally, I’m afraid not, lol. I chose not to especially when you’re surrounded by morons and shallow people.
